BIO-STATISTICS IN EPIDEMIOLOGY RESEARCH AND REPORTING

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the training programme participants will be able to:

· Undertake in-depth design, analysis and interpretation of different epidemiological research and reporting

· Conduct methodological epidemiological and bio-statistical research methods on addressing national health needs.

· Design and analyse public health programmes by applying of epidemiological and bio-statistical methods.

· Resource and consultants in the use of Bio-statistics in epidemiology research

· Promote use of mathematical reasoning in environmental and health scenarios.

· Epidemiology

· Survival Analysis

· understanding of disease development and the methods used to uncover the

· etiology

· progression

· treatment of the disease

· Infectious Disease Modeling

· Generalized Linear Models

· Experimental Design and Analysis of Clinical Studies

· Further Time Series Analysis

· Advanced Multivariate Analysis

· Bioassays and Modeling

· inferential questions of interest

· Statistical inferences:

· confidence intervals and hypothesis testing

· confidence intervals for case-control and cohort studies

· correlation and regression analysis,

· standardization of rates,

· use of statistical software
